Hope + David | Kansas City Engagement Session

Something we hear from a lot of our clients at the beginning of a session is some version of the following: “we’re awkward, and we’re bad at taking photos.” That’s a very normal and natural way to feel......in fact, a lot of photographers feel that way in front of the camera, us included. It can be awkward and uncomfortable, BUT the good news is that it doesn’t have to be. We do our very best to work through those initial feelings, and our hope is that you’ll eventually be so swept away in your love for the person next to you that you’ll forget we’re even there.....at least for a moment. That’s what happened with Hope & David. We were setting up a shot, overlooking the Kauffman Center, and we suggested they dance. Surrounded by fall foliage and views of the city, Hope began to tear up and she said, “sometimes I just get so overwhelmed with excitement when I remember I get to spend the rest of my life with David.” Of course, that made us start crying because it was so raw and real. In that moment, she summed up our entire mission at Hearts on Fire. Our goal is to give you timeless, (mostly) unposed images of spontaneous moments. We want to capture connection, and we hope that’s exactly what you see in this set. A couple in love, enjoying each other and the moment.

Hope & David will say their vows at The Harlow in August of 2021 and we are so excited to witness the emotions and celebrate with them on that day!
